During learning challenge week pupils took part in a Healthy Living Challenge. We talked to a boy who gave us his first impressions:
" My first impressions are really positive. It is good and raises awareness about a healthy lifestyle. Tomorrow, we will be completing questionnaires on healthy living, Marshall arts and zumba... this will help us burn off some calories for our new healthy lifestyle."
"A good week last year was a little bit different so this year we've taken it more classroom based, pupils are getting to see different curriculum joining into one section. Today we have been doing fitness work which has brought in our extra curricular side in physical education and yesterday we looked at food nutrition which develops what we have already learned in Food Technology..
The pupils definitely find the physical part challenging; we did the bleep test earlier and some of them went to extreme measures. I think the highest level we got to was level eleven. On top of that we just did some circuit training which the kids found quite challenging, some of them found it more challenging than others, and obviously that shows the physical presence of some people compared to others.
At the end of the week we are aiming for we have a booklet that people will be able to access on how to do home exercises, how go to the gym and how to do a different range of exercises not just one type. We also wanted to get people to know why and how we should be eating healthy."

We interviewed Mr Needham and he gave us a lot of information.
We asked him "How much have you enjoyed doing Healthy living?"
He gave us a detailed reply of " It's been a good challenge a lot different to what I have done in the past! i think some of the elements have been good and some could be improved. So for next year i have some ideas for next year to make it better."
Our next question was "Do you think its challenging for the pupils?"
His reply was " Certain physical aspects like the circuit training pushed some pupils to their limits and in terms of learning, some of it was very new and challenging to understand."
The last question was " Are you looking forward to doing it next year?"
He said "It should be good if its something I'm doing next year then I can change some aspects and make it better."
